MERCANTIL COMMERCEBANK APPOINTS JUAN C. LUNA BRANCH SALES AND SERVICE MANAGER RETAIL BANKING

Pompano Beach, FL - August 31, 2009

Mercantil Commercebank, one of the largest privately held banks in South Florida, has appointed Juan C. Luna Branch Sales and Service Manager Retail Banking. Juan will be based out of the Bank’s Pompano branch located on 1000 Powerline Road.

In his new position, Juan will be responsible for managing all functions of the branch in terms of profitability, sales goals, operation activities and branch staff. His goal is to develop new outside business by offering clients comprehensive and holistic financial solutions.

Prior to joining Mercantil Commercebank, Juan owned his own business called, A3L Products Company, a distributing company of natural health products primarily targeted to the Hispanic consumer in the United States. He also worked prior to that at Bank of America in the Ft. Lauderdale branch as Vice President/ Market Growth Leader.
“Juan is a seasoned financial, banking and sales professional; and brings a wealth of global industry knowledge to his new position,” said Ed Holden, EVP Manager of Personal and Commercial Banking at Mercantil Commercebank.

Juan was born in Caracas, Venezuela where he received an Associate degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management. He also completed distinctive banking and professional certifications which include: Total Quality Certification, Civil Treatment Professional Certification and Telebanking Management Seminar. Juan has been actively involved in the business community as a member of the Pompano Chamber of Commerce and is a founder and former President of the Monsanto Hispanic Network as well as Co-founder and former President of the Venezuelan Association in Missouri.
