Popular tournament is part of the bank's continuing support for the Weston Fury Soccer Club

Mercantil Commercebank, N.A., one of the largest privately held banks in South Florida, announced its support for the Weston Fury Soccer Club (WFSC) as sponsor of the 2008 Weston Invitational Soccer Tournament. The event was held from February 16th through February 18th at Weston Regional Park and Vista Park. The sponsorship is part of the Bank’s continuing support of WFSC.

The Invitational Soccer Tournament, now in its seventh year, attracted more than 4,000 visitors to the Weston community, and also serves as a fundraiser for the Weston Fury Soccer Club, which provides competitive programming for elite soccer players between the ages of 8 and 19.

Mercantil Commercebank is the exclusive Presenting Sponsor of the Weston Fury Soccer Club. In addition to the tournament, the Bank also provides financial support for its Soccer Camp and its annual Weston Golf Tournament.

Founded in 1998, The Weston Fury Soccer Club is a Nike Premier Soccer Program, and only one of approximately 45 youth soccer programs in the United States meeting Nike’s stringent requirements for premier status. The Club currently

has more than 500 youth players involved within its program, including approximately 40 boys and girls teams. Focusing on player and team development, Weston Fury Soccer Club dedicates its time and resources to providing experiences that maximize both the individual and the team’s potential. The WFSC’s teams compete very successfully in tournaments throughout Florida as well as nationally recognized showcases throughout the U.S. Additional offerings that are provided for teams and players are opportunities to host international youth teams for additional competition and many of Weston Fury’s teams travel abroad to Europe and South America to play.

The Weston Fury Soccer Club is a Nike Premier Soccer Program operating as a nonprofit organization providing competitive programming for the elite travel player between the ages of 8 and 19. We are a U.S.Y.S.A. and U.S. Club Soccer approved club and an F.Y.S.A. affiliate competing in Region A. Our developmental strategy means we consistently compete very successfully in Premier, State and Region Leagues as well as tournaments and showcases throughout the country which include Atlanta Cup, Dallas Cup, WAGS in Washington, DC, the CAPS in Raleigh, NC, and numerous others throughout the USA. A significant number of our players are regularly selected at the State, Regional and National ODP level.
