Mercantil Commercebank PRESENTS NEW BRAND AT EXCLUSIVE RECEPTION IN FELEBAN ANNUAL ASSEMBLY
Coral Gables, FL - Novermber 5, 2007
Mercantil Commercebank, N.A., previously Commercebank N.A., recently participated in the 41st Annual Assembly of Felaban, unveiling a new brand and corporate identity at a poolside reception held at the InterContinental hotel in Miami.
Mercantil Commercebank has been a sponsor of FELABAN, the Federation of Latin American Banks for many years. The organization represents more than 600 banking and financial institutions from 19 countries throughout Central and South America. The Felaban assembly is held each year at a selected city with Latin American ties. This year’s assembly was held in Miami and nearly every bank from Latin America attended, as well as the major banks from Europe and the United States who do business in Latin America.
The assembly is the largest gathering of senior Latin American bankers outside the International Monetary Fund and the Inter-American Development Bank meetings.
At the reception numerous guests had an opportunity to preview the new Mercantil Commercebank logo, which was launched to the general public the following day.
“The launch of the new corporate identity was coincidental to the FELEBAN assembly,” said J. Guillermo Villar, President and CEO of Mercantil Commercebank. “It presented an excellent opportunity to showcase our new brand among fellow executives of the financial industry.”
The Bank recently announced its name change as a result of a global branding study, an initiative of Mercantil Servicios Financieros (Mercantil), the holding company of the Mercantil Group. The new name and corporate look will integrate the Mercantil brand in all its subsidiaries to convey the Bank’s competitive advantage in the marketplace – its financial strength, global resources, and local expertise.
